A Cozy Stay in the Heart of Kaş: HIDEAWAY HOTEL

Hideaway Hotel is a friendly family-run business that you can visit in every season of the year. With its 20 rooms, most of which have balconies, a breathtaking terrace with panoramic views, and the delicious local flavors from its kitchen, it offers a comfortable and spacious boutique hotel experience.

Hideaway Hotel is only a 10-minute walk from Kaş Harbor, the town center, and the bus station. The sea is just ahead. When you want to cool off, you can jump into the turquoise waters from our neighbor Leymona Beach, or head to Büyük Çakıl Beach after breakfast and enjoy the waves, sun, and sea in Kaş’s largest bay. If you prefer, the hotel’s pool is also available for you throughout the day.

The friendly Hideaway family, with their extensive knowledge and experience of the region, is always happy to answer your questions. They welcome guests with buffet breakfasts and delicious local wines paired with dinner. The olive oil and all organic products harvested and processed from their own gardens are definitely worth trying. In Hideaway’s kitchen, the methods are modern, while the recipes come from grandmothers.

Hideaway Hotel is run by Turkish and Belgian couple Ahmet and Marie. Ahmet, who was born and raised in Kaş, loves his country and hometown deeply and plans to live there for the rest of his life. Marie, born in Belgium, made her first visit to Turkey in 2005.

“Every year, many of our guests ask our story and what brought me here,” says Marie with a smile. “Ahmet and I met during my first visit to Turkey in 2005. I stayed with two friends at a small guesthouse he was running at the time. Ahmet’s first experiences in the service industry go back to his childhood years, when tourism was just starting to develop in Kaş, with the guesthouse his family established back then. In the following years, Ahmet bought a neighboring building and established Hideaway.”

“After we met in 2005, I initially traveled frequently between Belgium and Kaş, and later between Ankara and Kaş, where I worked as a French teacher, as I was born and raised in the French-speaking part of Belgium. Eventually, in 2007, I decided to settle permanently in Kaş and started running the business together with Ahmet.”

“We got married in October 2008, and since then, we have been working together. As a couple, I believe we bring great harmony and balance to our work. Ahmet’s vast knowledge and love for the region, his sincerity and enthusiasm in sharing it with our guests, along with his ‘Nothing is impossible’ approach, still surprises me, as he can easily solve even problems that seem impossible. As a former teacher and employee, I also try to contribute my organizational and communication skills to our work.”

“We both love to travel, and during the winter months, we travel around the world. When we are unable to travel due to the busy hotel work, we feel very lucky to have the opportunity to meet other travelers and share their various stories and cultures.”
